Our Promise

Education first. Decisions second. Recommendations only when appropriate.

We believe you should understand every recommendation well enough to explain it to your own family. That's not a slogan — it's the order we work in.

01

You'll understand it

Plain-English planning. Every strategy explained until it makes sense — not until you stop asking questions.

02

It's about your household

Spouses plan together here. Social Security, income, and legacy decisions affect two lives — so both are in the room.

03

Nothing is rushed

Seminar, conversation, plan — at your pace, with no obligation at any step. Good decisions don't need pressure.

What We Do

Every piece of retirement, under one roof.

Retirement isn't one decision — it's a system of them. We help you make each one in coordination with the others.

Retirement Income Planning

The central question: how do decades of savings become a reliable monthly paycheck that lasts? We build income frameworks around your actual spending, your timeline, and the market environments you may retire into — stress-tested before you depend on them.

Timing DecisionsA pocket watch — timing matters in Social Security decisions

Social Security Optimization

When you claim is a permanent decision with household-level consequences — spousal benefits, survivor benefits, taxation of benefits. We help you evaluate the trade-offs across both lifetimes before you file, not after.

Tax-Aware Planning

Retirement changes your tax picture: RMDs, withdrawal sequencing, Roth conversion windows, Medicare surcharges. Planning ahead of those changes — in coordination with your tax professional — can matter for decades.

Your portfolio's job changes at retirement — from growing wealth to sustaining it. We align investment risk with the income plan, your timeline, and your sleep-at-night threshold.

How We Work

A clear path, at your pace.

01

Learn — free seminar

One hour of real substance on income, taxes, and Social Security. Open Q&A. Nothing sold. Most attendees leave with questions they didn't know to ask.

02

Talk — complimentary review

If it's useful, a private conversation about your situation: where you stand, where the gaps may be, what your options look like. Still no obligation.

03

Plan — built together

If we're the right fit, we build your retirement plan together — income, taxes, investments, legacy, coordinated as one system.

04

Review — for the long haul

Life changes, markets change, laws change. Your plan is reviewed regularly and adjusted deliberately — a relationship, not a transaction.

George Williams of Williams Financial Group

George Williams · Williams Financial Group

Meet George Williams

Guidance from someone focused on Kansas City retirees every day.

George founded Williams Financial Group on a simple observation: most people arrive at retirement having made hundreds of small financial decisions — and almost none of the big ones. When to claim Social Security. How to turn savings into income. What retirement does to a tax return. Those decisions were being made by default, not by design.

He's been helping Kansas City families make those decisions deliberately — in seminar rooms, across conference tables, and through market cycles that tested every plan. The firm's educational-first approach isn't a marketing position; it's how George believes this work should be done: teach first, plan second, and never recommend something a client couldn't explain to their own family.

"You should understand your plan well enough to explain it to your own family. That's the standard we work to."

OUR STORY · I

Why the firm exists

Williams Financial Group was built to serve one kind of client exceptionally well: the Kansas City household within roughly ten years of retirement — on either side of it. Not everything for everyone. This, done properly.

OUR STORY · II

Why education comes first

A seminar room is where trust is earned honestly — you hear the thinking before you ever hear a recommendation. Hundreds of KC families have attended our workshops; many became clients, and all left better informed. Both outcomes are the point.

OUR STORY · III

Who's behind the plan

George works with a support team committed to clear communication and consistent follow-through. For this demographic, knowing who answers the phone matters — every client relationship is supported by a defined service standard, not a single busy calendar.

OUR STORY · IV

Where we're going

The next decade of retirement planning will look different — new tax law, new longevity realities, new tools. The firm invests in staying ahead of that so our clients never have to chase it themselves.

Why Families Choose Us

What working with us feels like.

A welcoming professional conversation

Conversations, not pitches

You'll never feel cornered. Questions are welcomed, silence is fine, and "let us think about it" is always an acceptable answer.

A team working together around a table

A team behind your plan

Coordinated with your tax professional and estate attorney where it matters — your plan works as one system, not separate silos.

A calm shoreline — the retirement horizon

Built for the long horizon

Retirement plans live for decades. Ours are reviewed regularly, adjusted deliberately, and explained every time.

Common Questions

Before you reach out.

Is the seminar really free? What's the catch?+

Yes — it's an educational event. Nothing is sold, and there's no obligation. Some attendees choose to schedule a complimentary review afterward; many simply come to learn. Both are fine with us.

Should my spouse or partner attend?+

We strongly encourage it. Retirement decisions — especially Social Security timing and income planning — affect the whole household, and the best conversations happen when both partners hear the same information at the same time.

I'm still 5–10 years from retiring. Is it too early?+

That window is often the most valuable time to plan. Tax strategies, savings adjustments, and timing decisions have more room to work before your last paycheck than after it.

Do I need to bring financial documents?+

Not to a seminar — it's general education. If you later schedule a private review, we'll tell you exactly what's helpful to bring.

What does a complimentary review involve?+

A private, no-obligation conversation about your situation: where you stand today, where the gaps may be, and what your options look like. You leave more informed either way.

What if I can't make the seminar date?+

Register anyway and note it in your confirmation reply — we'll make sure you're invited to the next event or offered a webinar alternative.
